-
Is this self-paced?This is a partly self-guided program. This program includes daily support, accountability, and guidance. Each week you have a live lesson on a specific topic and the opportunity to join up to 2 conversation practice sessions with our team of native speakers, to apply what you're learning in a real conversation. The live lessons are at a fixed time and the replays are available immediately if you can’t make it live. For the conversation classes, you will have a few different times to choose from and can select the 2 that work best for you, each week. You also have access to listening strategies, and techniques for improving fluency, vocabulary recall, comprehension, and thinking in Spanish that you can complete at your own pace.
-
What sort of time commitment should I expect? We meet 3 times a week for about an hour (1 lesson and 2 conversation classes to practice what you learn in the lesson). One of these sessions is optional (the lesson), you can catch the replay if you prefer. You will also have access to other resources that you can work through at your own pace.
-
Is this program for everyone? No, this course is specifically designed to prepare anyone who is traveling to or moving to Latin America (or Spanish-speaking community in general), to be able to navigate day-to-day situations and converse with the locals, with ease & confidence. This is a beginner program, which is for you if you're just starting out and want to begin on the right foot for conversational Spanish OR if you already know some vocabulary, etc., but would like to take your conversational Spanish to the next level and begin to use it in daily conversation, beyond just the basic greetings.
-
What sets this program apart from others? This program was created specifically for people who want to learn Spanish for verbal communication purposes primarily. This is a "hands-on" program and 70-80% of your time will be spent learning through doing. We use a holistic approach very similar to the way babies learn their native language (based on the natural learning process of association) but altered to fit an adult's brain and lifestyle. Apart from helping you drastically improve your conversational Spanish & fluency within the 12 weeks, our mission is to help you understand the brain's natural learning processes so you can create a brain-friendly learning environment that facilitates the process and accelerates your results.
-
What do I need to participate? All you need is a stable internet connection, a quiet environment, and a free Zoom account registered and installed on your device.(if you don't have Zoom yet, we can help you install it).
-
I am enrolled. Now what?Within the next 24 hours, you will receive an email requesting some additional information and you will get access to all of our available resources that you can begin working through right away! You will also receive instructions on how to join your first live sessions (and the times, etc.) and get started!
-
Who is my Spanish coach?Nadine Panta Flexhaug will be your Spanish coach. She is originally from Canada and achieved a high level of fluent proficiency in the language in 2012. She was initially educated as an English As a Second Language teacher but gravitated towards the Spanish language not too long after. She has been teaching Spanish for over 10 years and taking students from all over the world through her custom-made programs since 2018 and transforming people's lives in the process!
-
Will I learn with native Spanish speakers?Yes, your bi-weekly conversation practice sessions will be with native speakers from Latin America. You will be able to participate in these conversation classes in a group setting, of up to 4 people per class. Nadine is your Spanish coach and you will also meet with her (or you can catch the recording) in a larger group setting, for your weekly lessons and coaching sessions.
-
Who will I be meeting with each week? You will meet with our team of native speakers 3-4 times a week for your weekly lesson and conversation classes. You will also have a coaching session with your bilingual Spanish coach, Nadine, every 3 to 4 weeks. All tutors and conversation partners undergo a comprehensive training course before they join our team and quality control is carried out regularly to ensure a high quality standard. The conversation practice sessions are designed to create a safe practice environment as naturally as possible but your conversation partners are still able to answer questions, help you if you get stuck, and guide you through constructive correction & mirroring (much like how parents teach their babies to speak).
-
How does is this different from your 12-week Boot Camp programs? We offer 12-week Boot Camp programs for 1-on-1 and small groups(2-3 ppl). These programs are more time-intensive and personalized, with 3-4 weekly sessions that are scheduled around your availability. If you choose the group option, you will be with the same classmates for every scheduled class, throughout the entire 12 weeks so we can personalize each session to your group. This 6-month Beginner Conversation Academy program, it is less time-intensive, including the opportunity to join 2 weekly conversation practice sessions and the option to join 1 live lesson/coaching session with Nadine. If you can’t join the lessons live, you can watch the recording. The conversation classes have a limit of 4 students per class. Anyone in the program can join the lessons & coaching sessions with Nadine (up to 15 people per session).
-
What if I want a refund? If you’ve joined and attended the live sessions but for whatever reason believe it is not the right fit for you at this time, you are covered by our 14-day Money Back Guarantee. You can submit a written request to cancel your membership and receive a full refund if within 14 days.
-
How long is this program? It is a 6-month program so that you can experience long-term support, accountability, and therefore, progress!
